The NSW Government has committed $470 million to the New Maitland Hospital.

The new hospital will be both the rural referral hospital for the Hunter Valley and the major district hospital for local residents of the Lower Hunter.

The Hospital will be built on Greenfield site in Metford, selected because it best met strict and extensive criteria for accessibility, services and the provision of contemporary health care.
